This year’s theme is ALL RED, so dress to the nines in your best red outfits.

The RBG Ball (Red, Black & Green) will serve as the kick-off /fundraiser for the Chattanooga Festivals Of Black Arts & Ideas' year-long series of festivals. This year it will take place at the Church On Main, 1601 Rossville Avenue on Saturday, June 1st  at 6:00 PM with a cocktail hour. At 7:00 PM we will serve a curated meal of Dry Aged Prime Rib of Beef w/ Chimichurri or Au Jus; Summer Corn Spoon Bread; Grilled Broccoli; and Glazed Local Mushroom prepared by celebrity chef Kenyatta Ashford. At 7:45PM  we will introduce 6 historical African Kings and Queens who will be available for public appearances, birthday parties and school visits throughout the year.

The is our kick-off for the Juneteenth Festival. The Ball ticket price includes: entry into the cash bar cocktail hour, gourmet dinner & dessert, 3rd Annual Black Arts Awards and Dance. Our Black Arts Awards honors six Black artists in Visual Arts, Dance, Music, Literary Arts, Film and Theatre.


ABOUT THE CHEF:

Chef Ashford studied at the renowned Culinary Institute of America in New York. Before returning to Chattanooga, he gained experience and inspiration while working in New Orleans, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. He recently was awarded Jean-Louis Palladin Professional Work/Study Grant by the James Beard Foundation that he used to study cuisines of the African American diaspora and West Africa. Chef Ashford recently co-founded a new dinner series called "4 Courses and." He has been featured in Travel Noire, New York Times, and The Chattanooga Times Free Press. He is enthused about the expanding culinary scene in Chattanooga and looks forward to providing the dining experience for this event.
