This Black Genealogy Society was created to provide tools for those of African descent to discover where their ancestors were from.

In partnership with the Chattanooga Public Library Local History & Genealogy Department, Scratching Your Roots Black Genealogy Society will have a table in Miller Park during the Legacy Music Festival. Come meet Co-Directors Gwen Davis and Marie Stoudemire and learn more about the society and how you might become a member. They will also be providing conversation on some of the tools and resources they will be using in their BiMonthly meeting at the Downtown Chattanooga Public Library.
