We will be diving into how we can disrupt the barriers and reawaken the power of reading, storytelling, and critical thinking in the Black community.

We are calling for all community members and families who have a heart for our youth to be in the room for this discussion.

PANEL DISCUSSION FACILITATOR, LAKWESHIA EWING

Lakweshia Ewing lives and breathes education and learning. As professional business and educational consultant she holds multiple degrees in Applied Science, Psychology, Education, Organizational Leadership. Africana Studies and Sociology. Ewing has more than 20 years in crisis management, racial equity, diversity and inclusion, program design, organizational strategy, project management and evaluation, group dynamics, teambuilding and community coalition building, supporting the work for companies and organizations such as Proctor & Gamble, Walmart, Bank of America, Chan Zuckerburg Institute, Shure and theAmerican Medical Association. Ewing has become a notable force in the realms of the government, education, philanthropic, faith based, business start-up and nonprofit sectors helping to procure over 20 million dollars in local, state, federal and private donor grants for educational programs and organizational development projects. 

She currently is the CEO for Unlearn Everything and Live, LLC , a social impact consulting firm with a niche focus on providing organizational teambuilding strategies. Ewing is a trainer in partnership with the nationally-renowned Racial Equity Institute, based in North Carolina. She also serves as a Chaplin for the Chattanooga Police Department and is a certified member of the John Maxwell Leadership Team, David Kessler Grief educator trainer, Brene Brown and an internationally certified Human Rights Consultant.

Lakweshia has personally received many notable awards, recognitions and certifications, such as Harvard Business School Young American Leader Award, International Church of God In Christ Achievers "Top 20 Under 40", Urban League Small Business of the Year recipient, Chattanooga Tennessee Top 20 under 40 young professional leaders award, University of Pennsylvania Research Scholars Award, City of Memphis Award of Merit, Footprints Foundation Community Leader Award, National Next City Vanguard class member, Whitney M. Young Humanitarian Award, and Stanford University Design Thinking certification. 

She is married and resides in Chattanooga, TN with her loving husband, Mr. Julian Ewing.
